Melissa B’s Burp Cloths

Three adorable burp clothes, wrapped up and ready to give!

BRAG TIME!!!!!

My friend, Melissa B, is a super talented, creative lady! I have to brag on her skills!

She makes adorable burp cloths and other baby accessories. I have bought several from her and each time can’t get over how cute they are!! SO I thought I should share with the world how wonderful these are and what great gifts they make for new mommies!! My favorite to give as gifts are the set of three burp cloths with a coordinating theme or color. She recently started covering those wipe travel holders and I LOVE IT!! I know others have enjoyed her ‘hooter hiders’ (the perfect gift for those mommies who might have to breast feed in front of others.) She is always working on new projects!

I had to unroll them to show off how adorable they are! Each are lined with brown rick rack (sp?).

From experience, I know they wash well, hold up great and everyone loves them! I think she is very reasonable priced. (sometimes handmade items can be a little pricey for my budget)

Enjoy the pictures (but they are so much cuter in person!) and of course let me know if you want some! She has lots of creative ideas and always searching out new fabric!!!

These last three burp cloths I purchased from her about a year ago! (obviously for a baby boy) I had more time to get these monogrammed! Possibilities of cuteness are endless!

Avery Elizabeth Oliver

I am proud to announce the arrival of Baby Avery Elizabeth!!

Our friends Rocky & Amy Oliver welcomed their precious baby girl on Sunday, November 1st.

Close up of Baby Avery

I would have taken the pacifier out of her mouth on this picture, but I didn’t want to make her mad! Daddy had just changed her diaper and she was content. (and during her short 24 hour life, Daddy had changed ALL the diapers! Already in the running for Dad of the Year!! Way to go Rocky!)

Baby Avery has already proven to have a mind of her own! She was schedule to be delivered on Tuesday, November 3rd via C-Section because she was sunny side up. She decided to show up early and Amy’s water broke Sunday and by 8:30 Sunday morning she was here! 8 lbs 4 oz (via C-Section–never did get in the ‘head down’ position)

She is beautiful and we are so happy to add a baby girl to Mark’s friend group! I know we are going to have so much fun raising our kids together!!

Fab Bag Giveaway!

My friend, Rachel, posted a bag giveway on her friends blog. I checked it out and LOVED IT!!!

I couldn’t resist the chance at another bag!!!!!  (or someone I know might need it!)

Bags are like shoes….a girl could never have too many!!!

If your interested, check it out!!!!

Good Friends, Good Times!

Here we are at the Suprise Anniversary evening!

What could be better than Good Friends, Good Food and Good Laughs!!!

Bernie had no idea our good friends from college were going to join us for the evening! Both the Horseman’s and Richeson’s live in Lexington. Both guys were fraternity brothers of Bernie and both ladies are sorority sisters of mine. So needless to say, we have had ALOT of fun times together!!!

David Alan Grier was at Comedy Off Broadway! You may remember him from Dancing with the Stars, Chocolate News, In Living Color….. He was hilarious! We all had a great night!

12 boys……and 1 GIRL!!!

There is a strange phenomenon going on here in Shelbyville. It seems like everyone I know in town are having baby boys!! This is a great thing for myself. I have always said I thought it would be fun to have all boys! Never a dull moment! sports, sports, sports, outdoors, the works! I love all that stuff!

In our Sunday School class is where it gets pretty weird. I thought there was a funny coincedence that since Mark has arrived (almost 2 years ago) there have been 9 boys born to our class!! I know! Can you believe it! 10 boys under the age of 2!!!!

Then the lastest two pregnant couples announced they were having boys too! I was just sure one of them would have been the girl!! That is when the joke about “don’t drink the water in our class” gets a little bit true….

So I am SUPER proud to announce that our dear friends Amy & Rocky Oliver, whom aren’t ‘official’ members of our class, but friends with everyone  AND they do live in Shelbyville are have a GIRL!!!!!! I so pumped for them! Amy is due near the same time our pals Tiffany & Wes. So that sweet girl will have a great pick of boys with fabulous parents. 12 boys within  2 years of her!!

(and I didn’t even mention all the little boys older than Mark that are in our class!! lol!!!)

I will have to get a pic of her cute little bump here soon……

Oaks Day 2009

The first weekend in May is always an exciting one for us Kentuckians! Its even better if you can snag some good seats at the Oaks or the Derby. This year we found out a week before the Oaks that we had box seats. Lucky for us we found 2 couples who were able to find babysitters and get off from work and join us.

Of course there was a huge chance of rain and it was the big question of the day (actually all week), will we get soaked?? We all packed our rain gear in and kept our fingers crossed!

We had a fabulous day! The rain held off, it was great company, the sun even came out long enough to give everyone a little sunburn. We had great seats and of course GREAT people watching!! I just wished I had planned out a fabulous hat and outfit…but I need a little more than a week! lol!! Maybe next year!!

The Girls On the way in....

Hey! We even found a few friends there!! Renea looked fabulous in her outfit and hat! Rog found us and his seats were not close to ours!!

Baby Girls!!!

Mark and I got to spend the morning with some very fabulous ladies!!

Two of my close friends from college (whom both have newborn baby girls) got together for a visit.

Mary is going back to work soon as her daughter, Katie J, nears the 12 week mark!! wow how time flies!!

She loves a good stroll

She loves a good stroll

In this picture we had just gotten back from a nice long walk. It was a beautiful breezy day. Her and Mark enjoyed the view and Mary and I enjoyed the exercise!!

Then the May’s women joined us! Brett is 3 1/2 and Shelby Elizabeth is 6 weeks old. This picture doesn’t really show how much all three of these girls looks alike!

The Mays' LadiesMark really enjoyed playing with Brett and the mommies were trying to pose the babies inbetween diaper changing and feedings. These poor mommies are still working out their schedules and still sleep deprived! I don’t miss those days!

Cheese!

The hill in Mary's yard is very fun!
