Sharing treats

We had a funny conversation the other day. Here is how it started.

Maddox starts to fuss. Mark is sitting on the other end of the couch eating his fruit snacks.

He says, “Momma, Baby hungry”

I’m laughing to myself, good insight Mark, “Do you think he wants some fruit snacks?”

Mark, ” Yes!”

Me, “Can he have one of YOUR fruit snacks?”

Mark, “NO!”

If Maddox only knew he had a good reason to be crying! I can just see this scenerio playing out again in the near future. Maddox will be crying, "Mark won't share his fruit snacks!"

Uh Oh, Maddox starts to slide, picture moment is over.....

Big brother starts to wig out because his brother is touching him! Mark's yelling, "OW!", Please...he is not hurting you! I think Mark was more worried about protecting his fruit snacks!

**I did explain to Mark that Maddox doesn’t have any teeth yet, so he can’t eat any fruit snacks. I thought I better try incase he gets any wise ideas and decides to actually share one day when I am not in the room!

Playtime

There are a few toys of Mark’s that he hasn’t seemed to want to let go. This safari jungle mat is one of them.

Mark seems to think there is room for the both of them!

"See!" Mark is trying to point out some things for Maddox to look at.

Mark is checking himself out in the mirror!

Maddox will start moving his arms and legs and it makes Mark scramble! He doesn't like it when the baby touches him! See him moving away from his arm?

Looks like little brother has already figured out to get big brother off his toy! Mark is working his way off the mat. As if Maddox has cooties or something!

**on a side note, Mark likes to “hold baby” as he says, but it seems to bother him if the baby initiates contact….not sure whats up with that…..any ideas?

Photo Shoot

We have this amazing photographer in our house. He goes by the names Bernie, Matt and Dadda. The only downfall for having this fantastic photographer is that we have a hard time booking ourselves in our busy schedule!

Getting all the equipment out at just the right time when the boys are in the mood to be photograph doesn’t always happen.

Apparently neither of them wanted to be photographed together!

So this photo shoot was a week late for Maddox’ 1 month shots. Maddox was fussy and only wanted to be held. Mark liked being on the table, but DID not want to get close to his brother.

"Mark, you want to take a picture with your brother?"

This is the response we get!

I thought I would share some of the more humorous shots that captured the moment. The upside to having this photographer in house is that it didn’t cost us a dime and we can always try again later!

Maddox's funny face. Guess he didn't want to pose next to that bear.

I was hoping to get a sweet shot of him a cuddled up. Instead he is showing off how well he holds his head up. Too bad he was very upset with me for putting him there!

Funny Fridays – Squirrelly

The Far Side Bernie

This was given to me by a friend shortly after it surfaced on his desk calendar.  I’ve had it framed ever since.  My friend’s nickname…not lying…”Baby Squirrel.”  Who gave him this nickname? I did.

It was the first day back from Christmas break and I was in a dorm room catching up with some guys when Craig walks in…Craig has very what I call “loafy” hair (Jewish Rye to be exact).  But his “loafyness” was gone now (think long buzz cut).  A few guys commented on his new look and then I comment in my best Joe Dirt voice “dang you look like a baby squirrel.”

Like they say if the shoe fits…apparently it did.  Now that we’re all older and much more sophisticated we simply refer to Craig as “Squirrel.”

Funny Fridays – Sleepy Head

Mark-Sleeping

Mark in hibernation pose

My sister and I have the sleep gene.  It’s hard to get us to sleep but once we are we’re like a bear in the winter……zzzzzz

This picture and video have lead me to realize that I’ve passed on my bear like qualities.   I was a tad freaked out when I rolled up on his bed.  But heard him breathing under the quilt,  then thought I gotta get the camera for this, glad I did…check out the photo of what I first saw…then the end of the video when he explains his dreams or something like that.

Funny Fridays – Bears and a Possum Oh My!

Guilty as charged, I’m a sucker for head shaking “are you serious” photos

Three Bear Family

Not since “the pooh family” have we seen such parental commitment.

I’m sure their conversation mirrored the Goldilocks and the three bears story.

  • Papa bear said “This is much too awkward”
  • Mamma Bear said “Not awkward enough”
  • Baby bear said “This is just right”

Yep that’s a possum in the photo.  WOW.  yeah that whole picture worth a thousand words saying…

May have our first video next friday but the week is long…take care

Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months  – Oscar Wilde

You gotta love pictures you never knew about or remembered.   I’m sure this fear alone keeps many people from running for public office.

This picture surfaced via my good buddy Wes Crawford (pictured middle).   The guy to the far right is Dr. Scott Byrdwell.  I haven’t talked to him years (last I heard he was either practicing in Louisville or Cincinnati).  An of course me on the left.  And YES

  • I used to part my hair
  • I’m wearing a pink & teal mock turtleneck in the dead of summer
  • I’m rocking a skinny braided belt
  • Those are stone washed jeans
  • My pants were possibly tight rolled
  • My shoes were probably Eastlands or Air Jordans

This photo was taken at Centrifuge in Panama City, Florida

I would like to dedicate this song to my outfit

till next week…have a fun 4th..& special thanks to all those who protect our freedoms

Funny Fridays – Just Cattin’ Around

This weeks funny moment comes via our niece, Ellie.  We were celebrating fathers day, sitting on the porch chatting and noticed Ellie trying to grab one of the kittens.  I asked my sister if the kittens played nice.  Next thing she is carrying the kitten around (thoughts of Godzilla come to mind).

It was one of those moments were you had to just be there to really understand how funny it was but luckily I had my camera on my lap  and snapped this image below.  After wiping the tears from our eyes, especially Jeanne, I previewed the shot on the camera.  That lead to even more laughter because of Mark’s face/reaction.  Oh the possibilities of what he was thinking.

Funny Fridays – Father’s Day Edition

Laughter is an instant vacation.  ~Milton Berle

My contribution to this blog besides all the technical nerdy..make you yawn stuff..will be posting something that made us laugh the most during the week.

Nothing is off limits!  Stay tuned…

Many of you know that I’ve been getting into photography.  So I’m always looking for inspiration from other photos.  I’ve found one that made me speechless..then wondered if we knew anyone that could sew!
