My generous mother donated almost two weeks of her life to our growing family. Arriving the day before our induction in order to take good care of Mark while we headed to the hospital, only to leave when Maddox was 11 days old. Lucky for us, Mom is a teacher and has some time off for summer break.
I was and still am nervous about the transition from one child to two. Not that my little angels would ever purposely give me a hard time!!
But a three year old and a newborn don’t seem to understand how to time their crying spells.
It was SO nice to have an extra set of hands around the house. Mom cooked, cleaned and most importantly helped take care of her grand babies. She would take my big boy outside to play so I could take care of the little baby in the air condition. She would hold the baby so I could take care of the big boy. She took care of one or both of the boys so I could take naps. She would also do laundry, run errands and even projects around the house.
I couldn’t ask for anything more! THANK YOU MOM! I know it is hard for you to be 3.5 hours away from these two precious boys. We really appreciate all the help and also owe a big THANK YOU to Papa for letting us borrow Grandma from you! I know you missed her!

Grandma & Mark are BOTH talking to Papa on their phones! Mark was using his play phone and telling us he was talking to Papa. So Grandma calls Papa on her real phone for Mark to talk to. He wanted no part of using the real phone and talking to the real Papa. Apparently pretending to talk to Papa is more fun!
No thank you for being such a wonderful daughter and mother. It was hard to leave but I know you have a terrific husband and caring mother in law.
I love your Mom! I’m so glad she was able to come stay with you guys – what a help!
Yes, you are very blessed to have such a great mom! (And to have the kind of relationship that you can bear each other under the same roof for that amount of time lol!) I’m so glad she was able to come help you! I don’t know how someone would be able to take care of a toddler and a newborn for those first few days without mom’s help!
Good job Margaret! What a huge help! Good pictures!:)
